Quick Homemade Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes ((organic, no salt added/3 net carbs per 1/4 cup serving))
  • 2 tbsp basil ((organic, no salt added/3 net carbs per 1/4 cup serving))
  • 1 clove garlic ((organic, no salt added/3 net carbs per 1/4 cup serving))
  • 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp Swerve Sweetener (granular
  • 1 pinch salt ((organic, no salt added/3 net carbs per 1/4 cup serving))
  • 1 tbsp white wine ((organic, no salt added/3 net carbs per 1/4 cup serving))
  • 1 dash red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preparation Heat a small saucepan and add olive oil.
  2. Sauté garlic for about 30 seconds (do not brown it will become bitter).
  3. Add in the wine and stir, allow to reduce until most of the wine has evaporated.
  4. Add in the tomato puree, salt, pepper, swerve and basil.
  5. Simmer on medium low for 15-20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes or so.
